Marine A/C and Refrigeration
We Come To Your Slip.
From the seawater intake to the refrigerant circuit. One truck, the whole system.
Boat A/C Repair at Your Slip in Fort Lauderdale & Broward
In South Florida, a dead A/C unit ends the day on the water. Most outfits can swap a pump or flush a coil, then call someone else once refrigerant is involved. Frontier Marine Service handles the complete system: seawater side, electrical, controls, and the sealed refrigerant circuit. We are EPA Section 608 certified, so the job that starts with a diagnosis ends with a repair, usually on one visit, with one invoice.
Boat A/C and Galley Refrigeration
Six categories of work, performed dockside. We find the actual fault before we replace anything.
A/C not cooling
Full system diagnosis with digital gauges and temperature readings. We find the actual fault before we replace anything.
Seawater pumps and strainers
The most common cause of a boat A/C shutting down. Pump replacement, strainer service, and flow verification.
Condenser coil cleaning and descaling
Salt and scale choke the coil and kill cooling capacity. We circulate a descaling solution through the system and restore flow.
Refrigerant leak repair and recharge
Leak detection, repair, deep evacuation verified by micron gauge, and charging by weight to manufacturer spec.
Electrical and controls
Breakers, wiring, capacitors, control boards, and thermostats.
Boat refrigerator, freezer, and ice maker repair
Galley refrigeration diagnosis and repair.
Self-Contained and Split Marine A/C
Self-contained and split marine A/C systems from Dometic (Marine Air, Cruisair), Webasto, and other major marine brands. Reverse-cycle units in both cooling and heating mode.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my boat A/C blowing warm air?
The most common causes are a failed or air-locked seawater pump, a clogged strainer, or a scaled condenser coil. Low refrigerant from a leak is less common but more serious. A proper diagnosis checks the seawater side first, then the refrigerant circuit.
How often should a marine A/C system be serviced?
In South Florida, at least once a year. Boats running A/C heavily or living aboard benefit from service twice a year, since salt scale builds faster with constant use.
Can you add refrigerant to my boat A/C?
Yes. We are EPA 608 certified. If a system is low, it has a leak, so we find and repair the leak before recharging. Topping off without a repair means paying for the same refrigerant again next season.
Do you work on reverse-cycle units?
Yes. We service reverse-cycle systems in both cooling and heating mode, including reversing valve diagnosis.
Do I need to bring the boat to you?
No. We are fully mobile and work at your slip, marina, or dry storage facility.
